Tariq ibn Ziyad or Taric bin Zeyad (Arabic: طارق بن زياد‎, November 15, 689 - April 11[citation needed], 720) was a Berber Muslim and Umayyad general who led the conquest of Visigothic Hispania in 711 under the orders of the Umayyad Caliph Al-Walid I.
Tariq ibn Ziyad is considered to be one of the most important military commanders in Iberian history. He was initially the deputy of Musa ibn Nusair in North Africa, and was sent by his superior to launch the first thrust of a conquest of the Visigothic Kingdom (comprising modern Spain and Portugal).

The name Tariq, which can also be written or Tarik Tarek, has many meanings in Arabic:
~Morning star, like Sura of Koran of the same name (sura N°86)
~someone who knocks at the door
~Road or Way (which there is a female " tariqa " meaning the way or method religious Sufi)
~Tareq surname would mean in Berber language "conqueror or traveler " but it is unclear whether this name berbère drift or not from Arab first name.
For Joaquin Vallvé the name Tariq refers to a eponymous figure and simply means Leader.

Abdullah Tareeq ibn Abdullah Fahami.............(agaknya abah nak saya jadi hero islam kot sbb tu kasi nama macam Tariq ibn Ziyad) or (maksudnya HAMBA ALLAH bintang subuh, supaya saya selalu bangun time subuh , leh kejut abah solat subuh) , apa-apa pun satu hari nanti saya akan pergi menuntut ilmu dan bertapa di Jabal tariq or Gibraltar (the name Gibraltar is derived from the Arabic name Jabal al Tariq, which means mountain of Tariq, or the more obvious Gibr Tariq, meaning rock of Tariq).

tetapi cousin saya juga panggil saya Fatih. Tapi abah dah reserve utk adik saya nnt kalu laki , abah nak kasi MUhammad al-Fatih, macam nama pahlawan islam juga.
